Lunchtime?

Do you ever have one of those days where you just don't think you'll make it to naptime? Well here's a picture of Abby not making it through lunch. She has started to fall asleep before but this is the first time I have been able to get a picture of it.

Derby Time

Hello friends and family.

Last Saturday began the beginning of the Derby festival. It takes two weeks for the city to celebrate the two minute race. We love this time of year. Since we live close to downtown we take advantage of everything the city has to give. Usually we go down to the riverfront to celebrate Thunder Over Louisville which is a the largest firework show in the US but this year Josh had to work so Abby and I had our friends the Ruccios over. Here is a picture of Abby and Lily playing throughout the day.

And then last night we joined up with some of our friends from LaGrange Fire and Rescue last night for the Balloon Glimmer. We had such a great time. Here is a picture of Abby and Josh with one of the few balloons they had up there.

Hanging at the Zoo!!

Today Abby and I took Josh to the zoo for his birthday! It was so much fun. Abby woke up after we had gotten there and she was so alert the rest of our visit. Abby helped Josh feed one of the giraffes. She wanted to pet it like she does Haley. We also got pretty close to one of the gorillas.

A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That

Hello friends and family. The weather here feels like summer rather than spring. I have learned that the more Abby is out in the fresh air the better she sleeps. So we've been taking a lot of walks at the park and doing one of her favorite things...swinging. By the time I round the last turn of the loop at our local park Abby is usually snoozing. Today it took two loops...boy was I tired. Here is a picture of Abby after our first long walk at the park.

Also, her Gigi (Josh's mom) had given her a swing in her Easter basket. So we've been doing some swinging at home in our back yard. I was able to hook it up to our Bradford tree. I don't know how much longer that will last but we are taking full advantage of our own swingset at home.

We also tried out the baby pool that Pa pa (my dad) had given her. It was so cold that we only put our feet in there but I took a picture of her in her surfer bathing suit. I wanted to make sure that she was safe from the sun so she's practically covered head to toe :)

And the big news...today I spotted a little bit of white coming through her gums! All this crankiness and fussing is paying off I suppose. She has been abnormally grumpy lately and we guessed it was teething but today I finally caught a glimpse of her pearly white tooth!! Yeah!! One down too many more to go!!

Last but not least the Lile family has grown this past week. On Tuesday April 6th Josh's sister Jessica gave birth to her healthy baby boy Elijah. He came into this world at 8 pounds and 13 ounces at 20 inches! I was able to hold him for about an hour Thursday afternoon. I cannot remember Abby being so small or so quiet haha! He is absolutely adorable and we are so happy for Jessica and Travis. Abby can't wait to meet her brand new cousin or for him to get big enough to play with her!

We hope that everyone is in great health and spirits. Tomorrow is Josh's 29th birthday and he's off. So us girls are taking daddy to the zoo for the day with our friends The Jenkens'. We will be sure to take pictures and post! We love you all and hope to hear from you soon!!

Kennedy and Keegan!

Today Abby had her first play date with Kennedy and Keegan. They are a little bit older than her which I think she enjoyed! It was so much fun watching these two girls play with Abby. Here are a few pictures of their day!! Tomorrow Abby turns 7 months old. It is so hard to believe how fast these past few months have flown by. They have been so enjoyable!!

Girl's Day Out!

Today Abby had another play date with Lily. It was such a gorgeous day out today that after lunch we went to the park and let the girls swing. Abby was so tired that she fell asleep and remained asleep while I changed her clothes and diaper. Poor thing went to bed without her bottle. Here are a few pictures of Abby's fun day with Lily!!

Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had as great of an Easter as we did. The weather couldn't have been better. We started the day by joining friends for Easter service at their church. We had an Egg Hunt at my mom's house. We then ended the day at Aunt Anita's house. It was a wonderful day shared with wonderful family.

Love,

April!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. The weather here in Louisville has been absolutely gorgeous. With that being said we have been taking full advantage of this break from the cold. Abby has been on a few walks and been to the park. Today while we were working in the yard she hung out in her jumper in the shade. She loved the feel of grass between her toes.

And another favorite of mine...

Abby also went up to Worthington for an Easter egg hunt. She was all dressed up and ready to go when she got a little tired and took a nap. So we hung out while the older kids went out and played.

We have so many pictures since it's been a while since I posted. One day we were hanging out waiting for Josh to get home...

And the last story (picture) I'll leave you with is this great news. After six months of sleeping in her pack and play next our bed Abby has made the transition to her own room. We were a little anxious about this because we weren't sure how well she'd do with this change. Apparently she was ready because the first night she slept 9 hours and if it weren't for her soaking her diaper she would have slept through the night in there again last night. We are so proud of her and more proud of momma only checking in on her once. Here is a picture of her first nap in her own bed!!

Well we hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!! We will be sure to post a picture of Abby in her Easter outfit.

Much love,
The Liles
