6 Month Check-Up

Abby celebrated her 1/2 year birthday last Wednesday! I made half of a cake, iced it and ruined it on our way to visit her dad at the fire station. I now know that I am not to transport cakes. Haha! Hopefully I get some practice in before her real birthday.

Today we went in for Abby's six month check-up. It is so hard to believe that she is already six months old! We found out today that she now weighs 17 pounds and 4.5 ounces. This is two ounces lighter than what she was when she was sick a month ago. This puts her in the 75th percentile. She is 25.5 inches long! Sounds like a lot but this puts her right at the 49th percentile. They just couldn't give us the 50th!! We saw Dr. Belza and we just love him. He did a thorough examination of Abby and said she is perfect from head to toe. This is also the doctor who told us that she was "well put together". We like to think so!! He was amazed as to how quickly she's accompished her motor skills (rolling over, trying to crawl, sitting up on her own). Her new thing is that she tries to sit up from a laying position. Only a matter of time before she accomplishes it!

Abby had another round of shots today but did awesome!! She's getting better and better with these. The only bad part was that she was just so happy and cheerful and then they had to come in with the shots. Dr. Belza also remarked about how happy she appeared. That's our girl!! We go back for her 9 month appointment in June.

Stay tuned for more updates as Abby is going to have her first trip to the zoo with her friend Addie on Thursday.

I hope all is well and that this finds everyone in great health and spirits.

Much love,
Kristen, Josh, and Abigayle

Abby in her leg warmers!!
