Hello friends and family.
I was going to update the blog sooner but I was waiting to get a good picture to post with this momentous post but I keep putting it off. So I will fill all of you in on her appointment went and leave you with a playful picture from this morning.
Tuesday was Abby's one year check-up. It's hard to believe that it has already been a year but I won't go into all of that again. We saw Dr. Lainey at East Louisville Pediatrics. We love this office and we love this doctor. He gives it to you straight and doesn't expect the parents to do anything more than he has with his four children. It's nice to have a doctor that is an average Joe like the rest of us.
Abby is doing wonderfully!! She weighs 21.09 pounds which lands her in the 50 - 75 percentile which is where she has been the entire year. Her height is 29 1/8 inches which is in the 50 percentile. Dr. Lainey didn't tell us the exact measurement of Abby's head but whatever it is puts her in the 90 percentile. Ha ha. Our little girl has a big head. We joke about its a wonder how it's a wonder she's able to walk with that big noggin. Dr. Lainey guessed that it comes from Josh's side but then I remembered that her Uncle Derek had a big head when he was younger.
Dr. Lainey was very impressed with her motor and language skills. He says that boys generally learn how to walk and climb first where girls generally learn words and show emotions first. But that she's doing both is wonderful! He says he looks for his patients to say one word and the fact that Abby has said or attempted to say so many is great.
Abby's on the right track and we're so proud of her. She had three shots that day which were much more painful the past shots. It was painful for us both. I'll admit that I started crying too. It's hard to hear your baby crying out of pain.
Okay so for our amusing picture for the day. My mom often jokes about when Abby leaves it looks like a two and a half foot tornado ripped through her home. Well here is Abby in all her glory this morning with her toy tub and the second one is of her jumping on her chair. There is never a dull moment when it comes to Abby which is why I frequently refer to her as 'Josh Junior'.
